Navy & White - Nautical Theme Luncheon

Ahoy Sailor! Nautical is such a versatile theme, the navy and white colour scheme can be adapted to weddings, engagements, birthday parties, baby showers and kids parties by making the theme subtle or bold, or adding additional touches of silver, gold or red.

Table Linen: The linen you use will also set the tone for the event. Use cotton, satin, linen or sequin material to create a glam or casual table setting.

As this was an intimate family afternoon luncheon, I used a crisp white cotton tablecloth and a linen navy striped table runner overlay.

Tablescape: A beautifully set table creates a atmosphere and taking point for your guests.

I used glass charger plates with silver rope detail, white china crockery and silver cutlery.

(Alternatives: DIY rope charger plates; Silver Plastic charger plates; and for casual events, Navy paper plates)

Ceremony Drink Station - Definite Must Have

Sometimes we get so caught up in the wedding reception, that the ceremony is often slightly overlooked or seen as just a formality. Often the shortest part of the day, the ceremony is actually the most important part, the whole reason everyone is in fact "gathered here today"!

The groom sees his beautiful bride for the first time.  The guests get the first sense of your wedding style and bare witness to the often tear jerking, intimate moments between a bride and groom.  And that magical moment when you are pronounced man & wife and sealed with that perfect kiss. You walk back down the aisle hand in hand, confetti is thrown and everyone cheers.

Then there is an awkward moment when the bride and groom get to the end of the aisle. They are unsure where to go or where to stand, family and friends want to congratulate you both but there's only two of you and too many of them.  Guest are unsure where they need to be or what they should be doing, or if they are needed for group or family photos. It's all a little bit chaotic and then in a blink of an eye you are whisked away to get those precious sunset shots.
